Test Setup

We've updated our old X399 tests system to be more in-line with our X470 gear, with Zotac's GTX 1080 AMP! graphics card and an up-to-date Windows 10 install with all the latest security patches and drivers installed. We've also switched to the new Threadripper 2950X CPU. Unfortunately, this means that we don't have any comparison numbers yet, but we'll be adding to these results soon.

  • CPU AMD Threadripper 2950X
  • Memory 32GB (2 x 8GB) Corsair Vengeance RGB 3,000MHz DDR4
  • GPU Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 AMP! Edition
  • PSU Corsair RM850i
  • SSD Samsung SSD 850 Pro 256GB (SATA 6Gbps speed tests); Samsung 960 Evo 500GB (M.2 speed tests)
  • CPU cooler Enermax Liqtech 240
  • Operating system Windows 10 64-bit
